Description Luciano Ascanio is a famous Neapolitan painter and landscape painter. He painted architectural landscapes, capricci and ruins. He was a student and follower of Viviano Codazzi, a painter of architectural landscapes who worked in Naples in 1634-1647. In 1665, Luciano became a member of the Society of Neapolitan Painters.
The artist's paintings are kept in museums in Naples, Lyon, as well as in numerous private collections. Presumably, Ascanio Luciano is the author of two landscapes from the collection of the State Hermitage, attributed to Vaviano Codazzi.
